Obituary of Thomas L. Ranalli
Thomas L. Ranalli, 84, of the Town of Poughkeepsie died Friday August 31, 2018 at home after a long illness surrounded by his family.
Born in Poughkeepsie on April 21, 1934, he was the son of the late Liborio and the Helen Capano Ranalli.
Thomas was a local resident all of his life; he was a graduate of Poughkeepsie High School and was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
On October 4, 1958 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Thomas married the love of his life, Mary M. DeBellis, who survives at home.
Thomas worked as a Senior Systems Analyst & Design Architect at IBM until his retirement in 1991.
Thomas is survived by his loving wife Mary at home in Poughkeepsie, his two children, Thomas V. Ranalli and his wife Lee Ann of Buckeye Arizona, and Julie A. Lucia of Poughkeepsie, New York, his three grandchildren Daniel Lucia and his fiancé Brianna Penney, Anthony L. Lucia and Christopher T. Lucia. His step-grandson Nicholas H. Moody, his sisters-in-law Gloria Ossolinski and her husband Edward of Poughkeepsie, Lonnie DeBellis of Poughkeepsie, and his two brothers- in-law, Thomas DeBellis and his wife Carole of Lagrangeville, New York and Robert DeBellis and his wife Marie DeBellis of Raleigh, North Carolina. He’s also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In keeping with Thomas’ wishes there will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am, Thursday September 6, 2018 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church Poughkeepsie. Interment will follow at the mausoleum at St. Peter's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations in Thomas’ name be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude's Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105 or to Hudson Valley Hospice, 374 Violet Ave, Poughkeepsie, New York 12601.
