Obituary of Carol A. McCormack

Carol A. McCormack 79 of Poughkeepsie, passed away on Friday May 28, 2021 at Mid Hudson Regional Hospital.

Born on September 4, 1941 in Brooklyn, New York she was the daughter of the late George and the late Henrietta "Bud" Bayliss Luff.

On November 14, 1962 in Brooklyn, New York Carol married Thomas J. McCormack.

Carol was a local resident since 1972 previously from Brooklyn, Beacon and Wappingers Falls.

Carol was a Legal Secretary at the Law Firm of Coombs,Kranis & Wing.

Carol was a Member of Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel of St. Peter's Parish.

Carol was an avid reader, loved to collect hand painted mice and also enjoyed working with ceramics.

Carol is survived by her husband Thomas J. McCormack of Poughkeepsie, her children Michael T. McCormack and his wife Mary Beth of Lagrange, Christopher J. McCormack and his wife Marlo of Poughkeepsie, Kerry Maslyn and her husband Bill of Poughkeepsie, Kevin McCormack and his wife Julianna of Poughkeepsie, her grandchildren Ryan, Caroline, Jake, Dylan, Ethan, Sophia, her sister Georgene and her husband Mario Centorcilli of Pine Bush and her nephews Michael and his wife Lisa and Robert and his wife Laura.

Carol was also predeceased by her son Patrick Joseph McCormack in 1965.

Carol’s family gives special thanks to the staff and physicians at Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital and Drs Zubair Khan and Maqbool Murtuza in the ICU, and Drs Muhammad Khan and Martine Edwards on Cooke 6.  Their heroic efforts and dedication to treat Carol’s condition could not be forgotten.  We would also like to thank Fr Zeverin Emagalist who comforted her in her final moments and the staff at Mid-Hudson Hospice.

Calling hours will be held Thursday June 3, 2021 from 4pm to 8pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am Friday June 4, 2021 at Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel 185 Hudson View Drive Poughkeepsie, New York 12601. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery Salt Point Turnpike.
