Obituary of Louise Adele Hughes

Louise Adele Fisher Hughes, 85, of the Town of Poughkeepsie, NY, passed away at home on Saturday, February 26, 2022. Louise was born on March 9, 1936 to the late Lester and Hazel Livingston Fisher. She married John Ronald Hughes on April 6, 1958 in Tarrytown, NY and survives at home. In 1954, Louise graduated from Washington Irving High School in Tarrytown, NY and received her BS Degree in Special Education from SUNY-Geneseo in 1958. Louise was employed as a Special Education Teacher at Wappingers Central School District for many years. She was the County Representative at CPSE meetings, a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) as well as a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Fishkill, NY.

 

In addition to her husband John, survivors include her sons Steven (Teresa) Hughes of Red Hook, NY, Jonathan (Mary) Hughes, sister-in-law Lois Mittelstaedt of Fort Myers, Fl and grandchildren Jeremy and Benjamin Hughes and Ryan Wallace (Leigha) and Michelle Wallace Lynch (Brian)  She was Great Grandmother (GG Lou) to Dylan, Cecilia, Sebastian and Anthony. She is predeceased by her brother Richard Fisher.

 

A Graveside Service will take place on Friday, March 4, 2022 at 1:00pm the Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery Mausoleum, Poughkeepsie, NY.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Timothy P.
