Our hearts are broken, Dawn was a sweet kind woman.She was my special needs son's Team Leader. Always helpful whenever needed. Always put my questions and concerns to rest. Always had kinds words and much good advice. She will be forever missed, especially by my son Raffaele.So sorry for your loss, may she rest in the sweetest peace.

My heart is truly broken over the passing of a wonderful woman I worked with for 10 years. I always teased her about going blonde because they have more fun and one day she surprised me and did it. After that I would call her my Blonde bombshell and we would sit and talk about our weekends. She was an amazing woman and a joy to be with. I haven't seen Dawn for a long time and when I finally got a chance to speak with her again, my heart was broken when she told me the sad news. "How is my blonde bombshell today?" "I'm not blonde anymore." "Oh did you go back to being dark again?" "No I have cancer". I had a lump in my throat that I could not speak with her any further and said my good bye, take care and ran to the bathroom to cry. I will miss Dawn very much and she will always be in my prayers. R.I.P. Dawn.

Dawn Christenson had a heart of gold. I was a neighborhood kid who was introduced to Dawn by a buddy who I would classify as Dawn’s BestMaleFriend. There was a gracious open-door policy at the Christenson house where the kitchen overlooked the local grade school we all attended, Titusville Elementary. We would hang out in the kitchen, a room that Dawn seemed most comfortable in. She was not interested in any outdoor activities as a young adult but seemed to be in her element preparing and serving us tuna fish sandwiches on toast, which I devoured in multiples as they were delicious. I don’t know what her secret ingredient was, but they were the best tuna fish sandwiches I have had to date. It made sense when I came to learn that years later that the family, humble, gracious, seemingly popular, took the bold step of opening a restaurant, ’C’s’, where Dawn with her mother helmed the kitchen while her brothers were also part of the staff. After not seeing Dawn for decades, I paid my only visit to ‘C’s’ when Dawn and I would have been 46 years old. Dawn took time out of her hectic responsibility being the head chef producing meals for the full dining room to greet me at the bar. She seemed genuinely happy to see me again 35 years after our tuna fish sandwich parties. Being the same age as Dawn, I am painfully aware of the inevitably of mortality. It is a shame that she had to leave her family, friends, and the world so early in her life. May she rest in peace. Christopher Duquette
