Obituary of Dawn L. Christenson

Dawn Christenson 64, a lifetime resident of Poughkeepsie NY, died on March 29, 2022 at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Elizabeth Christenson.

Dawn was the epitome of sunshine on a warm day. If you knew Dawn you loved Dawn. She was the heart and soul of C’s Restaurant kitchen for 25 years. She was most recently a team leader at NYS OPWDD. She was a woman who wore her heart on her sleeve, always readily available for anyone who wanted to just talk and was a genuinely sincere person who always put the needs of others first. She spent her summers growing up on the beaches of Cape Cod and found a true joy in watching the sun set on the bay. 

She is survived by her brothers, David Christenson; Mark Christenson (Alison); Robert Christenson, her nieces and nephew, Kyra Tarquinio (Joe); Michael Christenson; Nicole Lowery (Jeff) and her life long companion Cesar Aguilar. 

There will be a celebration of life for Dawn on Sunday April 3, 2022 from 1-4pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, New York 12603.
