Mile was one of the finest nicest kindest people one could have the pleasure of association.
I was blessed to associate with him, his Dad (a real character in a good sense) and his brother Nick (another real character in a good sense). Our family is blessed to have his wonderful children as our children's' lifelong friends. He was a great father who helped make great sons.
I interacted with Mike a couple days before his passing and it was obvious he was hurting and struggling. Yet he still exuded a radiant smile, friendliness, positive attitude, and indeed an energy that was infectious. Mike, at least in my view, was never a downer nor a drag. Not even in his worse days.
I will carry fond memories of Mike e.g. when we were working to maintain his Jeeps. Mike never gave up on them, like he never gave up on people.
But I for some reason have carried this sweet remembrance of him. Decades ago I went to collect our son from playing with Craig at his house. Mike was holding the younger Mikey so sweetly and joyfully. I thought to myself "what a great Dad those boys have". I bet they would agree I was right!
PS He raised sweet friendly dogs too!

Fond memories of Mike and his brother Dan, I grew up on Hammersley Ave and was very happy to play with Mike, pictured here at Marist College, circa 1978. Terrific guy, I lost touch when I moved West, sad to say. Condolences to his family.
