Obituary of John L. Giampe

John L. Giampe, 58, of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away on September 14, 2023. He was born on August 16, 1965 in Mineola, New York to the late Mario L. and the late Barbara H. (O'Keeffe) Giampe.

John was a lifelong Poughkeepsie resident. He was a graduate of the New York Military Academy and Drew University.

John worked for 34.5 years at IBM Poughkeepsie where he was a Supply Assurance Manager.

John loved keeping up his yard and gardens and he was a Military History Buff and a doting Uncle.

John was survived by his brother Robert L. Giampe and wife Carolyn Cooper Giampe of Monroe, CT., Rob’s children Lelia and Samuel; Sister Rebecca Giampe Chaney and husband Matthew K. Chaney of Virginia Beach, VA., Rebecca’s children Baron, Porter, Wilder and Lyons, his uncles Dennis O’Keeffe, William O’ Keeffe, Terry O’Keeffe and beloved cousins.

Calling hours will be held 11am to 1pm on Friday September 22, 2023 at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Pougkeepsie, New York 12603. Funeral services will follow at 1pm.

Interment will take place in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, Poughkeepsie, NY.
